Compress Bio-Gas (CBG) – Project
What is Compressed Bio-Gas?
Compressed Biogas (CBG) is a renewable fuel produced by compressing biogas, which is generated from organic waste like agricultural residues, manure, municipal waste, or food waste through a process called anaerobic digestion.
Biogas is a mixture of methane (CH₄), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and small amounts of other gases like hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). It’s produced when microorganisms break down organic material in the absence of oxygen.
To make biogas suitable for use as a vehicle fuel or for easy storage and transportation, it is purified (removing CO₂, H₂S, and moisture) and then compressed to high pressures, similar to compressed natural gas (CNG). This results in Compressed Biogas (CBG).
